Enjoying Those Precious Moments!

Long days at the grind stone sometimes seem endless. However after finishing up all the monotonous tasks getting to come home to my family makes everything worth it.

This is how my day should always end; sitting at a beach with my little guy enjoying the greatness of family. Everyone that has a beautiful blessing like my lil guy understands exactly what I mean.

What more can one ask for after a long, hard day at work?

The Magic Of Life

Perhaps many people doubt whether magic is real or not. Watch enough television as a kid and it 's sort of hard to shake the thoughts that magic doesn't really exist. And if you rewind the history tapes a hundred years ago almost everyone knew that magic was very real, and most everyone was deathly afraid of it's frightening powers. Now fast forward to the present day and if one slightly mentions the "crazy" mystical "m" word, a burst of jolly laughter is usually quick to follow. So take heed, I am not writing this to convince anyone concerning the validity of magic, but rather to awaken that child like amazement that only the magic of life can bring.
I have a year and a half old son, who looks at everything so amazingly with virgin eyes upon the world. The smallest thing will trigger a shout of glory. Just the other day we were hiking in the woods and a scorpion was sun bathing in the middle of the trail. Of course Balian, my son, screams out "Ooohhhhhh!!! What's that!" It's this wonderful inquisitiveness that I find refreshing; and sadly enough, something that so many of us have lost.
A week ago I was standing 9000 ft above sea level, looking down upon a small town in the low laying valley floor. Standing there in awe, I remembered how much I love the uniqueness of this world. Everything all connected and dependent upon one another. Looking down I remembered that I am nothing great, just a speck in the universe. Maybe this moment of solitude was my reckoning with the awesome of this world, but it did me good.
"Life is like a box of chocolates", Forest Gump reiterates many times. Those different things that come at us in life is the flavor of the world. Sometimes it doesn't taste good, and sometimes its too sweet. Most of the time though, it tastes bland. It's all one big hodge podge of averageness.
Unfortunately we all just pass the quo every day not really paying much attention to the
wonders around us. Like I said, just a speck in the universe. Perhaps if I really focus I can be a
speck with power and will; a force that can move someone or something. Faith of a mustard seed,
remember how this statement has changed the world. So close your eyes and open them slowly,
paying close attention to all the magical moments of life around you, and perhaps we can become
a powerful force in the world.
